One of my highlights of the EskomSePush app is that it received a mention in the official release of Ionic 1.0. In 2015 I was really into Cross-platform mobile frameworks. And when doing building prototypes or demo apps for clients, Ionic Beta was my go-to framework. So when starting EskomSePush, it was a no brainer because we wanted to support iOS and Android with Ionic easily.
Ionic was simple to use and much better than the other frameworks of the time. I remember Sencha Touch and jQueryMobile. They were awful compared to Ionic.
I never tried Xamarin, not sure if I missed something - guess I will never know
